A Byzantine gold ring with a garnet intaglio of a cross in a wreath and the letters alpha and omega. The bezel in attached by two hinges to the shank. The bezel is decorated with floral designs in relief. The intaglio is held in place by claw mounts. The shoulders of the shank are engraved with two Greek crosses.
