Opaque colour heightened with gold on paper, the composition centers on the Kaaba, depicted as a dark cubical structure draped with the black kiswah, ornamented with gold decorative motifs and a calligraphic band near the top. Around the Kaaba appears a circular path representing the area of tawaf.
Encircling the central shrine are small, carefully painted architectural vignettes ( four Maqams, Bab al-Salam, Bab Bany Shaiba, and Zamzam well ), each labeled in Arabic script. These represent significant features of the sanctuary, including minarets, gates, domed pavilions, and important stations within the mosque complex, such as structures associated with
pilgrimage rituals.
