An original Japanese woodblock print 木版画 (nishiki-e) by Itô Seisai 伊藤静斎 (active 1904), titled “Russo-Japanese War Report: Our Cavalry Scouts Clashed with 600 Enemy Cavalry outside the South Gate at Chongju; After a Desperate Fight Our Forces Occupied Chongju Putting the Enemy to Flight” 日露戦報　我斥候騎兵於定州南門外敵騎六百衝突奮闘末終之走定州占領 (Nichiro senpô, Waga sekkô kihei Teishû Nanmon-gai ni oite tekiki roppyaku shôtotsu funtô no tsui ni kore o hashi shi Teishû o senryô su)

Depicting a dramatic cavalry clash during the Russo-Japanese War, with Imperial Japanese forces overtaking the city of Chongju.

Printed on mulberry paper. Set on a linen background and mounted in a wooden frame fitted with glass.

In good condition with some browning. The linen background has a water spot on the left side, and the paper backing with restorations. Please refer to the photos for a clear condition reference.
