Of slender baluster form, raised on a broad spreading circular foot, the stem with moulded knop and flared socket, finely decorated in famille rose enamels with flowering branches, chrysanthemum, peony and foliate sprays in vivid tones of pink, turquoise, green, yellow and iron-red. The various sections are separated by bands of lotus petals, scrolling foliage and geometric diaper ornament, with further floral decoration to the broad foot. The rim and borders accented with gilt and iron-red details.
An elegant example of Qianlong-period famille rose porcelain, combining European-inspired candlestick form with the refined floral palette characteristic of the eighteenth century. Height: 20 cm.
