A finely carved yellow jade ancestor mask of the Post-Shijiahe cultural tradition, featuring a stylized ancestral face with prominent eyes, a pierced central opening, and elegantly curved openwork projections. The symmetrical design and refined craftsmanship reflect its ritual significance and association with early ancestor worship.

Mr. Huang acquired the jade pieces in Hong Kong. Some from Mr. Lai Loy (1926 - 2012), a jade dealer on Hollywood Road well known for handling and supplying archaic jade pieces to collectors, museums and other dealers and some some from private collectors in Hong Kong.
