An exceptional pair of creamy white jade tiger plaques from the Spring and Autumn period, each finely carved with intricate scroll motifs and surmounted by a stylized bird. The dynamic composition combines the strength of the tiger with the spiritual symbolism of the bird, reflecting the sophisticated artistry and ceremonial traditions of early China.

Formerly from Mr. Huang Zhi-Ming, a Taiwanese private collector.
Mr. Huang acquired the jade pieces in Hong Kong. Some from Mr. Lai Loy (1926 - 2012), a jade dealer on Hollywood Road well known for handling and supplying archaic jade pieces to collectors, museums and other dealers and some some from private collectors in Hong Kong.
