Lot 35 A HORNED JADE STANDING FIGURE, CHINA, WARRING STATES (475–221 BC)

A finely carved green jade standing figure from the Warring States period, distinguished by its elegant horned headdress and elongated ceremonial robe. Delicately incised details and balanced proportions reflect the sophisticated artistry and symbolic traditions of ancient China.
Height 9 cm.

PROVENANCE From a private Canadian collection. Formerly from Mr. Huang Zhi-Ming, a Taiwanese private collector. Mr. Huang acquired the jade pieces in Hong Kong. Some from Mr. Lai Loy (1926 - 2012), a jade dealer on Hollywood Road well known for handling and supplying archaic jade pieces to collectors, museums and other dealers and some some from private collectors in Hong Kong.
