This is a 1746 German edition of Allgemeine Welt-Historie (“General World History”), translated and expanded by Siegmund Jacob Baumgarten. It forms the fourth part of a large scholarly encyclopedic history originally compiled in England and further enriched with notes, copper engravings, and maps.
The book features: • A richly illustrated frontispiece showing classical historical themes. • A detailed title page printed in black and red ink, typical of 18th-century scholarly works. • Publication in Halle, by Johann Justinus Gebauer, 1746. 24 by 21,5 cm.
