Lot 89 A KHORASAN BRONZE EWER, PERSIA 12TH CENTURY

Cast bronze ewer of fluted, lobed form, raised on a spreading foot, with a broad shoulder supporting a tall cylindrical neck and projecting pouring spout. The neck is decorated with applied and engraved ornament, while the vessel is fitted with a curved handle with a textured thumb-rest. The surface displays a rich brown patina with areas of green oxidation. H. 20 cm.
