Lot 220 AN ILLUMINATED QURAN, WRITTEN BY MUHAMMAD AMIN AL-NAQSHABANDI, DATED 1150 AH / 1737–38 AD

Complete Qur’an, Arabic manuscript on paper, each page arranged in 12 lines of bold black Naskh script, within finely ruled polychrome borders. Surah headings are rendered in red Thuluth, with gilt verse rosettes outlined in black and Tajwid markings in red ink. The two opening bifolia are richly illuminated with elaborate polychrome and gilt decoration, framing six lines of calligraphy. Occasional polychrome and gilt marginal markers indicate Hizb and Juzʾ divisions, with further marginal annotations marking ʿUshr. The final pages contain the Duʿa al-Khatm, the traditional prayer recited upon completion of the Qur’anic reading. The final page bears the signature of Muhammad Amin al-Naqshabandi, together with the date 1150 AH (1737–38 AD).
