Rectangular textile, heavily embroidered in silver and silver-gilt threads on a predominantly black and red cotton ground. The centre is dominated by the word "Allah" embroidered in silver metal thread, surrounded by two roundels enclosing the Kalimat al-Tawhid on a green ground. Above are four lines from verses 23 and 24 of Surah al-Hashr. Below appears the tughra of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, dated 1321 AH, surrounded by floral leafy sprays.
The composition is arranged within a mihrab-shaped architectural framework and flanked by two columns of square panels enclosing the Ninety-Nine Beautiful Names of Allah (al-Asma' al-Husna). The whole is enclosed within a border of continuous repeating vegetal decorative motifs. 260 by 165 cm.
