A striking large Persian copper vase, gracefully rising from a spreading foot to a nearly cylindrical body, and culminating in a beautifully flaring neck. The body is masterfully engraved with intricate bands enclosing roundels of horsemen and cartouches depicting Persian figures engaged in daily activities, framed by two bands of elegant Persian calligraphic inscriptions in Nastaliq script. Below, a band of alternating panels showcases a seated figure, two seated deer, and a mythical beast, all separated by delicate bands of stiff leaves. The neck and spreading foot are adorned with matching decorative motifs. Height 68 cm.
