An almost square red lacquered suzuribako writing box, decorated at the outside with a ‘Tatar (Dattan) horse rider’ holding a spray of plum blossom in his hand, its lid at the inside show a peacock and a cycas palm in various makie-lacquer colours. With an ink stone and a round chrysanthemum shaped water dropper.
