A Chinese ewer potted with a globular body that tapers to a narrow foot and rises to a short, slightly flaring neck. Opposing the neck are a loop handle and a short tubular spout. The vessel is covered over most of its surface with a lustrous dark brown to black glaze. The lower portion of the body and foot is intentionally left unglazed, exposing a coarse buff-coloured stoneware body. Concentric turning marks are clearly visible on the underside. The foot is neatly trimmed and slightly splayed. Height 15 cm.
