A finely carved white jade pendant of elegant shield-shaped form, featuring intricate openwork scrolls and flowing vegetal motifs. The graceful silhouette and delicate craftsmanship reflect the sophistication of Han Dynasty jade artistry, where such ornaments were treasured as symbols of status, refinement, and auspicious fortune. The luminous white jade displays a smooth surface with subtle natural inclusions.
Height 9.6 cm.

PROVENANCE From a private Canadian collection. Formerly from Mr. Huang Zhi-Ming, a Taiwanese private collector. Mr. Huang acquired the jade pieces in Hong Kong. Some from Mr. Lai Loy (1926 - 2012), a jade dealer on Hollywood Road well known for handling and supplying archaic jade pieces to collectors, museums and other dealers and some some from private collectors in Hong Kong.
