A rare yellow jade figure depicting a standing woman, carved in a stylized and highly symbolic form characteristic of Shang Dynasty craftsmanship. Small perforations suggest it may have served as a ritual ornament or ceremonial pendant.

PROVENANCE From a private Canadian collection. Formerly from Mr. Huang Zhi-Ming, a Taiwanese private collector. Mr. Huang acquired the jade pieces in Hong Kong. Some from Mr. Lai Loy (1926 - 2012), a jade dealer on Hollywood Road well known for handling and supplying archaic jade pieces to collectors, museums and other dealers and some some from private collectors in Hong Kong.
