WITH XUANDE MARK
A finely carved ink block , richly decorated with dynamic dragon motifs in relief. The dragons are shown twisting among clouds, symbolizing power, authority, and imperial auspices in traditional Chinese culture.

Ink blocks such as this were used in Chinese calligraphy and painting, ground with water on an inkstone to produce ink. The elaborate carving and inscriptions indicate a high-quality scholar’s object, combining artistic craftsmanship with literary culture.
Length: 38.5 cm.
Provenance: Private collection mr. J.K., Switzerland.
