Two Japanese imari 'Nanban ship' bowls

Each bowl is decorated in underglaze blue with iron-red, green, aubergine, blue and black enamels and gilt, with a central roundel depicting a Dutch ship, bordered by a band of pointed leaf-tips, surrounded by panels of further ships and two faux coats-of-arms divided by pairs of standing Dutchmen on a floral geometric ground, the exteriors similarly decorated.
