A Satsuma hexagonal jar with cover

Decorated with colored enamels and gilt on a clear crackled glaze with six panels of birds amongst flowers alternating with three panels with samurai and ladies with small children, the neck and the cover are decorated with various flowers on a blue enamel ground, the base with Shimazu family crest and signature.

Condition: the cover with minor chip.
