Reference: ART30063

Crescent moon shaped fibulae, made of cast and engraved coin silver, with long needle which helps secure the fibula to the textile.

Fibulae were commonly worn by women as an everyday adornment whilst going about daily work as well as on special occasions. It is essentially a cloak fastener, comprising an ornate metal triangular, round or oval shape with detailed etchings in filigree or enamel, and a pin which serves to fasten two layers of material together and were usually worn as a pair. These type of Fibulae are worn by Berbers, the indigenous ethnic group of North Africa.

The smaller pair is of a lower purity of silver then the larger pair.
