An Islamic Mamluk style Mosque oil Lamp, with a large round bulbous body rising to a narrower waist, above which the top section is flared. Standing a foot so it can be placed on a surface, but suspended by chains that went through three of loops on the outside of the body. it was made in France following the style of the lamps that were made during the Mamluk dynasty in Egypt and Syria.Decorated and gilt with panels enclosing an Arabic inscription and interspersed by foliage sprigs and flowers.
