A LARGE ENGRAVED REVIVAL BRASS TRAY

Of circular shape, on plain base, with a short flat rim, the body engraved and filled with a black substance, the decoration consisting of a central monumental thuluth calligraphic composition with several passages from Sura 77 (Al-Mursalat) interspersed with star geometric motifs, split palmette tendrils, Y-shaped background, and further decorative and calligraphic roundels closer to the rim.
