A Chinese cold-gilt bronze eight-armed Avalokitesvara

The figure is modelled with four heads each wearing a foliate crown and hooped earrings, the body is fashioned with eight arms, the front two in dharmachakramudra and the back six in vitarkamudra. She is seated in padmasana on a double lotus base cast with an apocryphal Qianlong mark. Her face and arms are covered in cold gilding with further pigmented highlights.
