A Chinese celadon jade pommel and a pale celadon jade monkey

Reference: ART1003289

The circular pommel is carved with a central node and is incised to the upper surface with archaistic scrolls, the jade is of a celadon tone. The monkey is perched on to a gnarled openwork leafy stem bearing two large melons, all above a bat in flight. The stone is of an even pale tone with russet inclusions to the reverse.

The pommel: 6.5 cm. diam. The monkey: 7 cm. high, 3.8 cm. wide
