A Chinese coral-ground famille rose 'qilin' vase

The vase is modelled with a sinuous qilin coiled around the shoulder. The body is decorated with three roundels enclosing chrysanthemum, chrysanthemum and peonies, and lotus and nandina berries, all reserved on a ground of scrolling gilt lotus on a coral ground. The interior and base are glazed turquoise, the base with an apocryphal Qianlong mark.
