A Chinese gilt bronze Buddhist votive group

The group is cast with a Buddha as the main figure seated in padmasana on a raised lotus base, the right hand is held in abhayamudra and left resting on the left knee. The head is framed by a separate aureole decorated with an openwork foliate design. The Buddha is accompanied with four separate standing Bodhisattvas, two with the hands holding a kamandalu ('holy water' bottle) and a willow branch and flower, and two with their hands in abhayamudra and varadamudra and backed by an openwork aureole. All the figures are supported on a rectangular four-legged stand.
