AN IMPRESSIVE CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE 'CARP' FISH BOWL, KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)

The centre is decorated and gilt with a carp to the middle surrounded by crabs amongst dense and leafy lotus flowers, the surface of the rim is decorated with a geometric band interspersed with flowerheads and butterfly cartouches. The exterior is boldly decorated with two lion-mask handles and large elaborate flower sprays flanked by two phoenix. 37 cm. height, 59.7 cm. diam.
