A parcel-gilt bronze figure of a Lama

The lama is modelled wearing a cap and with downcast eyes and a serene expression. He is seated in padmasana on a lotus base with his hands in dharmacakramudra, each of his hands holds the stem of a lotus flower which trails along his arms and supports the Sword of Knowledge and the Book of Wisdom. He is clad in monastic robes with incised with scrolling tendrils and stamped flowerheads. The body with traces of cold-gilding, the face with lacquered highlights. The baseplate is incised with a double vajra.
