A wucai vase, guanyinzun

Reference: ART100918

The vase is decorated with a continuous scene of scholars contemplating a hand scroll depicting a yinyang symbol. The scholars are accompanied by attendants, one of which bearing peaches, all under a pine tree and swirling clouds surrounded by deer amongst rocks. The neck is decorated with chrysanthemum and peonies with rocks.

Condition: with a section restored to approx. 1/3 of the rim with associated overpainting and cracks extending through the body; frits to the rim.
