A Chinese flambé-glazed vase

The pear-shaped vase is decorated to the neck and shoulder with raised ribs, and the inverted rim is decorated with evenly spaced pierced apertures in imitation of a lotus pod. The vase is hovered overall with a deep maroon glaze streaked with deep purple and lavender. The base is covered in a pale straw-coloured glaze covering an apocryphal incised Qianlong mark.
