A Chinese gilt-lacquered carved wood altar cabinet

The front double sliding doors of the cabinet are inset with delicately carved and gilt openwork panels of flowers, scrolls, and brocade floral designs. The doors slide open to reveal two gilt phoenix panels and gilt lacquer scene of figures in a river landscape. The stand is decorated with a gilt band of ‘shou’ character variations above a petal band at the foot.
