THREE OPENWORK CARVED WOOD PANELS, 19TH CENTURY

The first is carved with a central panel depicting two scholars and a warrior between openwork precious objects on a scrolling ground. The upper panel is decorated with a shou roundel and stylised kui dragons, the lower panel is decorated with a sampan approaching a qilin. The second is carved to the central panel with a scholar and lady between two flower sprays, all reserved on a geometric openwork ground, the upper panel is carved with a qilin and bird, the lower panel with flowers. The third is decorated with a central shaped panel enclosing a figural scene between auspicious objects on an openwork 'wan'-symbol ground. 109 by 39 cm.

Condition: expected wear and age cracks, a few patched areas.
