A LARGE CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE 'FLORAL' REVOLVING VASE, 20TH CENTURY

The vase is composed of three sections - the body is decorated with four pierced medallions enclosing peony, pomegranate, prunus, and roses, all on a yellow sgraffiato ground of lotus sprays. The collar and the lower rim of the neck section are encircled with the Twelve Heavenly Stems and the Twelve Earthly Branches. The uppermost removable section is decorated with two gilt elephant-head handles and the interior section is decorated with boys at play. 42.8 cm.
