A wucai ‘narrative' sleeve vase

Reference: ART100953

The large vase is decorated to the exterior with ladies and scholars amongst plants in a rocky fenced garden and iron-red and underglaze blue clouds. The scene is inscribed with two lines from the first book, first chapter of the Romance of the Western Chamber, Xixiangji. The neck is decorated with pierced rocks and peony sprays.

Condition: appears to be in overall good condition.
