A large Chinese blue and white cylindrical censer

The impressive piece stands on three short feet. The straight sides are decorated in various shades of rich cobalt blue with a continuous scene of scholars in pavilions, conversing, and a figure fishing on a sampan, all below trees in a rocky mountainous river landscape. The rim is decorated with a demi-floral head band on a stippled ground and the foot is encircled with a band of dots.
