A Chinese famille rose-enamelled surprise cup

The prunus-shaped cup is decorated to the exterior with applique prunus flowers on three branches which also form the stand for the cup. The interior of the cup is modeled with a standing scholar. The exterior of the cup and the scholar are possibly later enameled.
