A large Chinese brass lobed three-tiered box and cover

The box is finely and densely decorated to each lobe of the central tier with a triple-peach spray supported on scrolling foliate between two bats in flight between two floral bands and bordered by archaistic scrolls. The sides of the lower tier and the cover are decorated with lotus scrolls. The top of the cover is separated into five lobes each with a shaped panel enclosing bats and the sanduo, a wan symbol, and a flower spray, all surmounted by a lotus bud finial. The box stands on shaped water caltrop feet and the base with an apocryphal Yongzheng mark.
