The pear-shaped vase is decorated with two moulded iron red and gilt phoenix handles to the neck and to the body with two dragons each clasping a foliage tendril amongst large scrolling lotus, all below a ruyi head band to the rim and a lappet band and key fret band at the foot. The interior and base are glazed turquoise.
