A Chinese hardwood parcel-gilt foliate altar cabinet

The front decorated with the attributes of the Eight Immortals, the upper surface is carved in relief with parasols, lotus and the endless knot. The reverse bears an inscription dedicated to Changkya Khutukhtu apocryphally dated to the 45th year of Qianlong which is repeated in Manchu. The cabinet stands on a rectangular raised base.
