The charger is decorated and gilt with a central scene depicting a marriage between a lady and a scholar, with further ladies and scholars bearing wine ewers and vessels in front of a table laden for a banquet between two hanging pom poms. The rim is decorated with a diaper border with cartouches enclosing scholars objects.
