A Chinese iron-red and gilt-decorated foliate dish

The dish is decorated to the centre with a scene of a lady waving goodbye to a scholar in a sampan surrounded by moulded tulip-shaped panels enclosing flowers, all interspersed by further flowers. The reverse with two flower sprays.
