A CHINESE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL ALTAR VASE AND COVER

The lobed vase is decorated to the body with taotie masks amongst scrolls below a band of confronting kui dragons at the shoulder. The rim is decorated with a further band of dragons above a band of stiff leaves at the neck. The base is decorated with flower scrolls. The circular cover is pierced with evenly-spaced apertures imitating a lotus root.
