A pair of large Chinese precious-object-inlaid lacquer panels

Each panel is depicting in mirror image a cloisonné enamel vase filled with pomegranates and other flowers executed in gilt bronze, jade, glass, and hardstones. The vase is set amongst scrolls, a plaque, a jue, a lotus and narcissus, all executed in lapis lazuli, bone, mother of pearl, soapstone. The inlays are set into a yellow lacquered ground in a hardwood frame decorated with European style scrolls.
