A large Chinese Ming-style 'floral' jar, shiliuzun

The baluster vase is decorated in a Hongwu style, it is moudled into twelve lobes resembling a pomegranate. Each lobe painted in underglaze blue with a different flower spray, each growing from low stylised rocks, all below a band of ruyi-heads enclosing lotus sprays. The shoulder is decorated with a band of detached cross-shaped clouds below a band of upright lappets enclosing lotus. The surrounding the foot is two bands of lappets pointing in opposite directions and divided by a key fret band, all above a classic scroll encircling the foot. The recessed base is unglazed.
