A Chinese coral-red ground famille rose brush pot

The straight-sided brush pot is decorated with two shaped panels, one as a double gourd on the vine and the other as a pomegranate. The gourd panel encloses a scholar and an attendant under pine trees in a fenced garden, the pomegranate panel encloses a scholar and an attendant with wine jar. The panels are interspersed with gilt lotus scrolls on a coral-red ground. The rim is covered in a café-au-lait glaze.
