A Chinese famille rose 'butterfly and bitter melon' bowl

The bowl is decorated to the exterior with butterflies in flight amongst bitter lemon blooms growing from a dense leafy vine which trails over the rim leading into the interior where it meets with bamboo shoots. The base with an apocryphal Guangxu mark.
