A Chinese wooden carving of Avalokitesvara

The bodhisattva is carved with a smiling face below a diadem centred by Amitabha buddha, she wears a shawl and a draped celestial scarf, as well as elaborate jewellery. She is seated in padmasana on a double lotus base with a large uncarved panel to the front.
