A Chinese famille verte 'piecrust' octagonal platter

The platter is decorated and gilt to the centre with two birds in flight amongst blossoming peonies and cockscomb and a cricket perched upon a leafy branch. The rim is decorated with cartouches enclosing birds and insects on a seeded floral ground. The moulded rim is decorated in iron red and gilt. The reverse is decorated with four iron-red and green-enamelled flower sprays.
