Three Cantonese carved tortoiseshell boxes

The group comprises: an oval etui with a hinged cover, it is carved overall with figures in a garden scene, dragons, phoenix, birds and blossoming prunus; a rectangular hexagonal etui with a hinged cover, each side is carved with a garden scene with pavilions and dignitaries with their attendants; and a circular box carved in relief in to both sides with figures amongst pavilions and trees, the edge of the cover is carved with a floral band, and the edge of the base is carved with further pavilions.
