The globular teapot is decorated with a spout and handle imitating a gnarled vine, with the leaves and grapes trailing onto the body with a squirrel perched on top. The cover is similarly decorated with an imitation-vine finial. The base is marked with a 'Zhu Kexin' seal mark and underside of the cover is marked with a 'Kexin' seal.

Catalogue notes: Zhu Kexin (1904-1986) was a notable artist from the Number One Yixing Factory, which is the oldest teapot factory in China.
